Opened RFI for New 2K and 3K Childcare Providers

    Program Reform

Mayor Mamdani announced the opening of a request for information (RFI) to recruit new providers for the existing 3K program and a new 2K childcare initiative, marking the first expansion in five years. The city targets 2,000 two-year-old seats by end of 2026 and approximately 12,000 seats in 2027. The expansion is tied to the over $1 billion partnership with Governor Hochul for universal childcare.
